You request redemption from the token, fill in the shipping form, and pay the $2 handling fee plus insured shipping. We verify that you hold the token, then the token is burned on-chain and the card is packed and shipped.
The burn happens before the card leaves the building, and it is irreversible. That order is deliberate: it makes it impossible for the token and the card to end up in two different pairs of hands.
